 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our usual morning meeting. We then worked on our Bear art, using watercolour pencils to create backgrounds that reflect the bear's habitat -the mountains, forests, and fields. After that, we went to work with our Grade 3 Buddies. 

After nutrition break, we read to ourselves and then we played a sight word game. Finally, we went to see our Grade 4 buddies and they took us outside to do an Earth Day scavenger hunt.

We had a marvellous day!

Lunes el 24 de abril

 This morning we had our morning meeting as usual. In Spanish we learned the silabas: ja-je-ji-jo-ju and ga-ge-gi-go-gu. We started talking about la primavera (spring). In Math we did a test using our aking ten and then adding more strategy. In gym, we started Mission Impossible and Srta. Houde said that we were awesome spies! In English we learned our new sight words for the week which are: most, very, after, thing, our, just.

After lunch we read to ourselves and then we did our English literacy enters. We went outside for recess and then we went to music. Last, we learned about living and non-living things in Science.

We had a good day but we need to work on our listening and following classroom expectations - Mom and Dad, please ask me about this!

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our usual morning meeting. Then Srta. Houde continued reading the story called "The Earth Made New" to us. We went outside with our Grade 3 Buddies and did a special Earth Day scavenger hunt. 

After Nutrition break we read to ourselves and continued working on our Earth day poster art. We went to music and then continued working on the posters.

We had an awesome day!

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our morning meeting as usual. In Spanish, we did our Spanish literacy centers and then in Math we measured our zapatos, our cuadernos, our friend's height, and our desks using blocks. In gym we started the gymnstics climbing and movement unit. We learned about safety in gymnastics and how each of the 13 stations work. Tomorrow we will begin moving on the equipment. In English we learned our new sight words for the week which are: place, year. live, me, back, give.

After lunch we read to ourselves and then we did our English literacy centers. We went outside for recess and then we went to music. After music we talked about activities that we do with our family for our Family posters. Now we are writing this blog.

We had a fantastic day!

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our morning meeting as per usual. Then, we did a Tangram picture challenge where we made beautiful and creative pictures using the pattern blocks. After that, we went to see our Grade 3 Buddies and they showed us their Ozobot projects! They were so cool! 

After nutrition break we read to ourselves and then we worked on work before music. After music we worked on some more work and now we are writing this blog.

We had a fantastic day!

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning. we had our morning meeting as per usual. In Spanish we reviewed La familia and then we did our Spanish literacy centres. In Math we did an estimystery and then we went to gym. In gym, we started the gymnastics unit. Today we practiced different movements on the mats and then we played a game called "Magical Mats." We came back from gym and learned our new sight words for the week which are: sound, take, only, little, work, know.

After lunch we read to ourselves and then we did our English literacy centres. We went outside for recess and then we worked on our drawings of our grizzly bears making sure to add lots of careful details.

We had an amazing day!

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our usual morning meeting. InSpanish we reviewed la familia again and then we did our spanish literacy centres. In Math, we began a Haida art project that uses symmetry. We made this art after we read an Indigenous story called "Lovebirds". We went to gym and then we continued working on our Haida art.

After lunch we read to ourselves and then we did our English literacy centres. We went outside for recess and then we finished our art and tidied up the classroom.

We had a wonderful day!

Weekly Update!

 A reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Tuesday, April 11. 

Our next parent Society meeting is on April 12 via Teams. Everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there!  Link and password will be sent out to parents on Wednesday morning.  

Our movement unit will start on April 11. Please see the separate email sent out regarding appropriate clothing and safety precautions.

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our usual morning meeting. In Spanish we reviewed la Familia and then we did our literacy centers. We wrote about our family and we worked on our family tree. In Math, we learned a new 3D shape called "la prisma triangular". It has 6 vertices (corners), 5 caras (faces), y 9 lados (edges). In gym, we played secret doctor dodgeball with Srta. Carcamo's class and we played girls against boys.

After lunch, we read to ourselves and then we discussed sequencing and then we wrote about our spring breaks using the sequencing words (first, next, then, last) to write. We went outside for recess and then we went to music. After music we learned our new sight words which are: come, made, may, part, over, new and then we changed our table groups. And now, we are writing this blog!

We had an extraordinary day!
