 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our morning meeting and then we practiced our Spanish with La Mochilas. After Spanish, we started Art. Today we drew some reindeer and coloured using oil pastels! We had buddies with the Grade 3s and today we spoke in Spanish and then they read to us.

After Nutrition we continued working on our cute reindeers and then we went to music. We came back and finished our reindeers and now we are writing this blog.

We had a very festive day!

REMINDER: Please bring in a counting collection of 20+ items for math next week!

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our usual morning meeting. In Spanish we read La Oruga Muy Hambrienta (The Very Hungry Caterpillar) then, we drew what we had for snack this week. In Math, we learned about shapes and then made animals out of our pattern blocks. In gym we played bench dodgeball with Srta. Carcamo's class. We played girls against boys and girls won the points today (the core was 4-2). The sounds we learned to day were: AR and OR like in car, star, and far and in sport, more, and orange.

After lunch, we wrote sentences with our sight words and or/ar words. We practiced following a book in our own workbooks and worked on work for the afternoon.

We had a magnificent day!

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning Srta. Houde was back! We had our moring meeting as usual and we changed our jobs for the week. In Spanish we got a new card for La Mochila and we practiced speaking in Spanish with a partner. We got new table groups for the month called: Dasher, Prancer, Rudolf, Blitzen, and Vixen. In Math we did some counting and then an Esti-mystery! In gym we played secret doctor dodgeball with Srta Carcamo's class. After that, we discussed the r-controlled vowels and how er, ir, and ur all make the same sound!

After lunch and an indoor recess we wrote sentences using ir, er, ur words. We finished our Social Presentations about our school and then we worked on the art that we started last week with seasonal changes sceneries.

We had a brilliant day!

Parent Update!

 December 9 will be Anything but a Backpack Day. This is a chance for the students to use their creativity by using a household item in lieu of a backpack. We want to emphasize that student should not need to buy anything for this spirit day and what is brought to school is safe for the student and those around them.

 

This year Dalhousie School has decided to give back to the community by participating in the Salvation Army Toy Angel Drive. This toy drive is designed to bring cheer to low-income families with children aged 0-12. A box has been set up in the main office to collect donations. If you would like to contribute please bring your unwrapped toys into the office before noon on 15 December 2022. 

 

We are in the last month before Winter Break.  A reminder that if your child will be absent for 5 days or more due to a holiday, an extended absence form must be filled out.  Please email dalhousie@cbe.ab.ca to request the form and have it submitted before your child’s absence.

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our morning meeting. Then, we did some more Social Studies presentations and then, we put together and wrote down some interview questions for our Grade 3 Buddies. We went to see our buddies and we asked them questions about their favourite things to get to know them better.

After nutrition break, we did some seasonal changes art and then we went to music. We had a bit more time to work on our art and now we are writing this blog.

We had an awesome day!

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we did the morning meeting as usual. We changed our schedule a bit today so that we could get some of our Social Studies presentations done. They were great! In gym, we played bench dodgeball, niñas contra niños! It was super fun. After that we did MORE Social presentations.

We had another indoor recess day at lunch. We read a story called "How to Catch a Star" and then we did some writing about what we want to be when we grow up and why. Then we had an indoor recess AGAIN! We finished our flashcards and will be learning a new fun game to play with them tomorrow.

We had a wicked day!

REMINDER: Next Friday is Spirit Day which means "Anything but a Backpack" Day. Ask me about it.

 Hola hola Mariposas!

This morning we had our morning meeting as usual. In Español, we had a visit from Ernesto and then Srta. Houde gave us another new card to practice Spanish for our Mochilas. In Math we did a graphing. activity as a whole-class where we graphed every body's favourite colour. We went to the gym and played secret doctor dodgeball with Srta. Carcamo's class. After that, we went back to our classroom and learned a new sound: er like in Vancouver, panthers, tower, teacher, and mermaid.

After another indoor recess lunch, we worked on our printing and then we made some more flashcards to review our sight words. We talked about our Social Studies/English presentations that we will be doing this week and then a friend in the class read a book to us. Now we are writing this blog.

We had an incredible day!
