 Hola hola Mariposas!

In Math we had math centers and then we went to the gym to play Rock, Papaer, Scissors Evolution and then we played Rhythm Master. We came back to class and Srta. Houde read us a book called "Under My Tree". We talked about our favourite trees and why they are special.

After lunch we read to ourselves and then we worked on a story map for the story that we wrote as a class called "The Mermaid and Her Fish." You can read our story at the bottom of this blog. We did not go outside for recess because of the smoke and then we talked about Life in the Past and then we did a little bit of writing. Now we are writing this blog.

We had a very smoky day!

REMINDERS: Tomorrow is library!

The Mermaid and Her Fish

Written by: Room 12

Once upon a time in a castle in the sea, there was a mermaid named Lina. Lina loved all fish, especially her pet dolphin named Ruby. Lina’s greatest enemy was the big bad shark who was very evil and did not like mermaids. Lina spent her time in the castle, always hiding from the big bad shark.

One day Ruby, the dolphin, escaped from the castle. Lina was scared to leave the castle for fear of the big bad shark but she was worried about Ruby getting eaten by a whale. She decided to leave the castle to find Ruby but only for a short time. The shark, who was watching Ruby play outside the castle, was getting very hungry. He decided that he would eat Ruby as a snack, so he creeped up behind her. Just then, Lina swam in front of her dolphin. The Shark, being very hateful of mermaids, decided to kidnap her and take her to his den!

Ruby, in a panic, went to find her gang of fish friends to tell them about what happened. They made a plan. They would go to the big bad shark’s den when he was sleeping and free the mermaid. Some of the fish would bring a net and tie up the shark while the others freed Lina from her cage. At dusk, they set off towards the den.

When they got there, the shark was fast asleep just as planned. The group of fish began securing the net to trap the shark while Ruby went to save Lina. Suddenly, the shark began to wake up just as Lina was climbing out of her cage. He was FURIOUS and began thrashing at the fish, trying to chomp them all up. Lina and Ruby began to swim away as fast as possible while the other fish struggled to keep the shark tied up. He broke free and swam madly after Lina and her group of fish friends. All of the sudden, the famous Orca came out of nowhere and knocked the shark down to the sea floor. The Orca was very hungry and did not like the taste of dolphins but she loved the taste of sharks so she ate him up for dinner. Lina and her fish friends swam back to the castle and they lived happily ever after!

The End
